Eldridge Reunion

We had such a great time Saturday at the Eldridge Family Memorial Day reunion. Riley LOVES getting to see his cousins and Emma Reese LOVES to eat so it's all good! Great food, great conversation with Adam's cousins, great time with all the kids. Here's some pictures of the highlights.

Riley and his "entorage"... a.k.a. older cousins kind enough to let him tag along all evening.
Riley and Emma Reese playing on the bridge.

Reese's new fascination is with all things bug. This time she's got her eye on some ants. "Wow!" she says when she sees them crawling. Too funny.

The babies that were all born the same year of Emma Reese (2008). There were five last year!
Our first family photo since baby was born!

Playing in the Dark

What is it about kids that right when it's time to go to bed, they all of a sudden have this huge burst of energy? That's what happened tonight after a visit from Nana, Aunt Heather, Jadyn and Mia. The kids were worn out (I'm sure Jadyn and Mia fell asleep going home) yet somehow they had this renewed energy. So, like a great mom, I let them stay outside and play even though it was way past bedtime and was getting dark. There's something so peaceful about a spring night just after the sunset, though. The kids were laughing, I was relaxed, the weather was perfect.... I just hope they sleep in in the morning (yeah, right!)

Here's Riley telling me through his "walkie talkie" that he's stuck and needs help getting his jeep going.
Emma Reese wants to do everything Riley does, so she's now obsessed with the Diego Jeep as well, although she calls it "my car".
Riley didn't mind to let her play with it. He decided to swing instead. What a good big brother. :)
Once she got tired sitting in it, she decided she needed to use her muscles and push it around a little. She's quite the strong little one year old! :)
I wish I had half of their energy. I know I'll regret it in the morning when they wake up with the chickens, but 20 years from now I'll only remember staying up late and playing in the dark, NOT waking up after a short night's sleep, and that's all that matters. :)

Blowing Bubbles

Riley has always LOVED LOVED LOVED blowing bubbles. That, and blowing up balloons. Not sure what the fascination is. Either way, he's passed on his love of all things bubbles to his little sister. Tonight, she sat with Mamaw and really blew her own bubbles! "Bub-buhs," she would say, pointing at the bubbles container. "My bub-buhs?" as if to ask for them. It was so sweet when Mamaw sat her on her lap and taught her to blow them. "Blow, Emma Reese," she would say. And to my and Papaw's astonishment, she really did take a breath and blow! Too cute. I love simple pleasures God gives us. Soon enough the kids will want video games and cell phones. But for now, it's bubbles.

Okay, so I'm back.

I'm tired of not blogging anymore about my personal life. Business blog on hold... my blogging is currently reprioritized. :)

So, what's new with us? We are still tackling KidsPoint full force! Averaging 70 kids a Sunday! Not bad for lil' ole' Morehead, Kentucky! My kids love it, well, Riley loves it. Reese is going through her "no" phase so everything is "no", KidsPoint included. Want a cookie Reesey? "NO" Want to see the puppies, Emma Reese? "No!" Want to take a bath? "NOOOOOOOOO". I'm wondering, did I accidentally pray for patience recently? I hope not. lol

What else... mamaw and papaw got the kids a new playground! I asked Riley what he did to deserve it. "Be good," he replied. In reality, I am wondering what I did to deserve such a treat. It is heavenly to not have to load the kids up and go to the playground. We have one in our backyard!!! It's awesome. Of course, Reese doesn't want to swing or play... just walk around as far as she can get away from me.... she's exhausting right now. If she wasn't so darn cute, I think I'd lose my mind!

Let's see, oh yeah, we have a garden now! Yep, we are officially... hmmm what's the word... not sure... either way we are excited! Riley and Emma Reese helped weed and plant onions, peas, tomatoes, corn, lettuce and more. It's already time to start the real work... hoeing. Not sure how to do that. Maybe Adam will do it. lol

More updates to follow on this garden of ours. I can't wait to see what is in store!
